Jana Ryklová is a Czech opera singer whose lyric coloratura soprano allows her to specialize primarily in the Italian operatic repertoire (Giuseppe Verdi, Giacomo Puccini, Gioachino Rossini) as well as soprano arias by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Bedřich Smetana, and Antonín Dvořák. After graduating from the Opera Department of the Prague Conservatory, she continued her studies at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (HAMU) in the class of Associate Professor Jana Jonášová. During her studies, she already performed in school productions in the roles of Mozart’s Susanna, Puccini’s Lauretta, Verdi’s Gilda, and Smetana’s Esmeralda.

Between 2004 and 2024, she has performed and continues to concert mainly in the Czech Republic and German-speaking countries. She was a soloist with several choirs in North Rhine-Westphalia under the direction of the distinguished conductor FDB Bernd Radoch, accompanied by the Bonn Philharmonic Orchestra, and also collaborated with Jana Weigelt, Wolfram Kastorp, Heinz Walter Florin, Stefan Wurm, and Rolf Pohle. Concerts took place mainly in Cologne, Bonn, Frankfurt, Troisdorf, and surrounding areas.   She was also engaged in the project Imagine Amadeus, where she appeared in the role of the Queen of the Night. In Germany, she is currently preparing further musical projects and will collaborate, for example, as a soloist with the DEUTZ-CHOR KÖLN choir in Cologne. She has also performed in Switzerland, Austria, Italy, France, Spain, and Slovenia, where she appeared either in solo recitals or as a soloist with various musical ensembles.

Her repertoire includes opera, operetta, sacred and church music, as well as contemporary vocal works. She regularly performs at renowned festivals such as the Prague Spring Festival, Prague Autumn Festival, and festivals dedicated to Antonín Dvořák and Bedřich Smetana. She is also the organizer and patron of the Foersterovy Osenice Festival. She has sung in St. Vitus Cathedral under the direction of the cathedral organist Josef Kšica. In the Czech Republic, she has collaborated with many orchestras, including the Hradec Králové Philharmonic Orchestra. Currently, she is active in the project Trio di Praga together with violinist Alexander Shonert and pianist Natália Shonert. She also performs with organist Michal Hanuš, pianists Kristian Badarovsky and Augustin Kužela, accordionist Ladislav Horák, Mexican tenor Antonio Rivera, Michal Bragagnolo, harpist Zbyňka Šolcová, and others.

For Steelant Produktion under the direction of Bryan Felber, she recorded the Jewish song Oyb Nit Kein Emune by Canadian composer Charles Heller, accompanied on piano by Petr Vašíček. She is also devoted to teaching activities, supporting and mentoring young talented artists. She currently serves as a professor at the International Conservatory Prague. In 2023 and 2024, she completed three concert tours in Vietnam — performing in Hanoi, Hai Phong, Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), and Dong Hoi, where she additionally appeared in a live television broadcast during the opening ceremony of the cathedral for Vietnamese television. In 2025, she made her debut concert tour in China, performing in Beijing (Golden Hall), Tianjin, and Tongxiang with the Vienna Orchestra under the baton of the world-renowned conductor Jan Pellant.
